In response to Lane's comments on yesterday's ramblings:
Ha, sweet! Awesome, that you tried it! Work your way up into shit like this. Don't be afraid to cut the volume in half or something, if you need to. Progress comes quick. I won't say that it gets easier, though.
I performed much the same back in August on Barbara the first (and only time) I did it. Maybe, I'll see if I can fit it in next week. The pullups will still be mighty sucky.
Crossfit is some sort of masochism-addictive, though. I'll incorporate parts of it into my routine, but I want to be this guy when I grow up:

That shit's insane. I haven't pulled a max single in about 2-3 months, the last time I did it was 375. I've added more than 50 pounds to my work sets (5 reps) since then. So, I'll be shooting for 425 or more. Only 500+ pounds to go!
Side note, Pantera or Slayer are worth an extra 15 pounds on my lifts easy. Recipe for deadlift success: Load bar with lots of plates. Put South of Heaven on stereo. Crank that shit. Chalk up. Froth at moth a little. Get set. When Araya sings 'Before you see the light you must...' start pulling like a motherfucker. You should be done about the time he finishes screaming DIE! I'm getting all antsy and a bit of an adrenaline rush just thinking about it. I'm a dork.
If the morning cardio gets you motivated, that's great. Keep it. It won't actually hurt you, but if you do start unintentionally trending down toward 130 pounds -- you'll need to eat more.
Only women should weigh 130 pounds. I've been on both extremes. I weighed way too damn much in school (not sure of a high mark, usually around 260, though), and I got down to 175 back in May.
I like where I'm currently at better. To actually be good at strength sports, I'd probably need to be 300 (think World's Strongest Man, which is all kinds of awesome) but vanity precludes that (wallet, too, I don't know how they afford all that food -- it costs too damn much to feed myself at my current weight). They're strong as shit, but also dumpy. I think 240 is realistic for me at some point.
I've found gaining weight harder and even less fun than losing weight (which also sucks). Gaining muscle requires surplus calories = eating more than I want = feeling uncomfortable all the time = sucky. Also, it's damn hard to gain muscle without gaining fat (sans-steroids or being fortunate enough to have freaky genetics), so after gaining, you have to cut. Neither is fun, and then you have to buy new clothes.

There is some sick kind of pleasure in not being able to move parts of your body because of soreness.
That deadlift is ridiculous though, I wonder how much energy gets expended just picking that up once.
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3007.44 joules, just guessing at a height of 6'2" and 275 lbs, and I don't remember the exact weight of the deadlift (no youtube at work).
If you're ever curious about the work you're performing, this is pretty cool:
